10 Apr 2018
Residents
from Woodchurch and across Wirral are being urged to pop down to the Carrbridge
Community Centre this Easter holidays.
On
Tuesday 10 April from 11am – 3pm, there will be a bouncy castle for children
with a 50p charge for members and £1 for non-members.
Then,
on Friday, there is a disco for children up to 11 years old from 11am until
3pm.
There
is also a lunch club every Thursday for the over 55s. It costs £3 for
two-course hot meal and entertainment.
The
centre has also recently begun hosting a breakfast club which is co-organised
by Community Connectors from local charity Involve Northwest. This runs every
Monday from 11am until 1pm. A full English breakfast is on offer at 50p, along
with the opportunity to meet other people.
Wirral
West MP, Margaret Greenwood, who attended the breakfast club earlier this week
said:
“It
was great to go to the breakfast club and see such an enjoyable social event.
“Thanks
must go to the volunteers at the centre as well as the Community Connectors who
do such a fantastic job in putting it on.
“It’s
a really good place to go to meet people and have a good breakfast.
“There
is lots more going on at the Carrbridge Centre until the end of the week and
beyond, and I would urge anyone who can to go along and see it for themselves.”
There
are also regular classes and events throughout the week including samba
drumming, Tai Chi, slimming world, Pop Cat’s music time, bingo, and more.
The
centre also runs a social supermarket where food is available at low prices.
They have recently started providing fresh meat through the supermarket too.
Anyone can buy food at the supermarket and save themselves money in the
process.
The
centre is looking for volunteers to help them run the social supermarket,
so get in touch with them on 0151 606 8913 if you can spare some time or
if you would like any more information.
