Wirral West
Emergency Food Hub
Wirral Council and community food providers have set up an Emergency
Food Hub to make sure vulnerable residents don’t go hungry during the
Covid-19 outbreak. People in need of emergency food can contact the hub via the
website www.wirral.gov.uk/health-and-social-care/coronavirus-updates/emergency-food or call the Covid-19 helpline on 0151 666 5050 and arrange to have food
delivered to them.
Local sources of support in Wirral West
Wirral Council has set up a Covid-19
helpline to provide help and advice to residents needing support with
their day-to-day needs and for people wishing to volunteer. Call 0151 666

Age UK Wirral are offering additional
support for elderly and vulnerable people during the Covid-19 outbreak,

Helplink provide transport,
practical support and friendship for the elderly and vulnerable. Call 0151

Tranmere Rovers in the
Community is providing assistance with shopping and prescriptions, and also offers a
befriending service. Call 0151 609 3325 or email community@tranmererovers.co.uk
Covid 19 Mutual Aid is a group of
volunteers supporting local community groups throughout the UK who are
organising mutual aid during the Covid-19 outbreak. They focus on
providing resources and connecting people to their nearest local groups.

Self Employed The government has introduced a Covid-19
Self Employment Income Support Scheme that offers a grant of up to £2,500 per

Travel Advice
The coronavirus outbreak has caused major travel disruptions
throughout the world.
If you are a British Citizen who is abroad and wanting to
return to the UK, visit the Foreign Office Travel Advice page for the country you are in. Instructions on
how to get home are available on the Travel Advice pages for each country,
particularly the ‘Return to the UK’ page.
You can also subscribe to travel advice email alerts for
your destination for the latest information and advice from the Foreign
Office. I would also recommend following the nearest Embassy or Consulate
on social media.
